Dallas Cowboys vs Houston Texans

The Cowboys are 2-2 and ranked No. 24 in the AP’s Pro32 power rankings. The Texans are 1-3 and ranked No. 26. The Cowboys are struggling on offense, while the Texans are struggling on defense, which should make an interesting matchup for this rare cross-state NFL regular season battle.

The Cowboys are led by head coach Jason Garrett, quarterback Dak Prescott, running back Ezekiel Elliott and linebacker Jaylon Smith. Dallas comes into the game with a 2-2 record. The Cowboys defeated the Lions in Week 4.

The Texans are led by head coach Bill O’Brien, quarterback Deshaun Watson and defensive lineman J.J. Watt. Houston owns a 1-3 record, and is coming off a Week 4 win over the Colts.

Darryl Slater: Interesting showdown of two promising young quarterbacks, the Cowboys’ Dak Prescott and Texans’ Deshaun Watson. But the Texans’ struggles this season will continue, as they fall to 1-4. Cowboys 35, Texans 24.

Matt Stypulkoski: Deshaun Watson and the Texans are finally on the board with their first win, but they’re still the second-best team in Texas. Dak Prescott and Co. need to start stacking wins if they plan on making the playoffs and will get the job done here. Cowboys 24, Texans 17.

Week 5 of the 2018 NFL season has arrived! It’s officially time to dive into point spreads and betting lines around the sport on a weekly basis. That means picks and predictions for the entire slate, including primetime games

These cross-state NFL rivals don’t play often in the regular season. Houston’s only win over Dallas came in 2002, the franchise’s first year of play. The Cowboys haven’t visited Houston since 2010.

“This is pretty much the battle of Texas,” Houston quarterback Deshaun Watson said. “Two Texas teams and Houston wants to beat Dallas and have the bragging rights. So, we have to go out there and do our job and try to get those bragging rights so the whole city of Houston can hold that weight for a year.”

The Cowboys are led by quarterback Dak Prescott and running back Ezekiel Elliott, the NFL’s leading rushing with 426 yards through four weeks. In last week’s Dallas win over Detroit, Elliott got the ball 29 times and ran for a career-high 240 yards.
